ootiBOO! is our Halloween-themed creative craft competition for the whole family. Closing date is midnight on Halloween (October 31). Details on how to take part are below.

These prizes are awarded to stand-out entries - not just the most artistic - as ootiBOO! is an inclusive project for any ability. The main thing is to have fun!

So follow the steps below, and get creative!

For more inspiration

Use your imagination to come up with a spooky pumpkin design or a scary (or funny!) monster. Use any materials or medium you like!

You could carve a pumpkin (children need to be supervised by a responsible grown-up), paint or draw a design, or make a model. The possibilities are endless!

What unusual idea can you come up with? 

We've also created some colouring templates for younger kids - and anyone who wants to join in but has limited time!

Once you are finished, scan or take a picture of your creation.  Just to let you know, we only accept images of your entry, not video clips.


Now it’s time to share your fabulous creation with everyone.

To celebrate the publication of _The Child of the Beast_, the fourth book in the darkly delicious _The Beast and the Bethany_ series, we teamed up with Farshore to make ootiBOO! 2023 as beastly as possible.

When readers of _The Beast and the Bethany_ first met The Beast, he was hidden away in the attic of the ever-youthful 511 year-old Ebenezer Tweezer.  In exchange for feeding him whatever he wanted, The Beast would vomit up magical potions that allowed Ebenezer to stay forever young.  However, the Beast’s appetite became more and more adventurous – until he met his match in Bethany.  Now Ebenezer and Bethany work together to keep the Beast in check, but they never know when he might next strike . . .



To celebrate the publication of... 

Entries came in from across the UK and we have had international entries from the USA, Canada, Ukraine, Serbia, Taiwan, Latvia, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, the Bahamas and Iran! Is your town or country on the map?

Bear in mind that the pins on our map only relate to the general town or city an entry comes from, not a specific address.
