My brother wanted an evil egg an innocent egg… so I made one egg that was half-and-half… One side has rainbows and hearts. The other side (shown here) has a dragon eye and flames! I dipped the egg in dye (half light blue/half light pink) and painted over with paint pens. The eye was the hardest part! Detailing it pulls the idea together.

Our family made a bunch of collabor-eggs using wax, food dye, paint pens and markers. They display nicely in a bowl of rice grains!!

For this egg, I partially dipped it in various dye colored for different lengths of time to get a variety of colour, wiping it with a paper towel to soften and blend the transitions. Then I drew floral designs over top with a thin Sharpie marker pen.

I started by dropping spots of wax on the bare shell in a kind of organic way—a little inspired by the Milky Way. Then I dipped it in various dyes for different amounts of time to vary the intensity of colour. After rubbing off the wax to reveal the white shell, I painted over some spots for contrast. Fun!!

This was an old candle holder - two plain dark wooden eggs on a metal stand. I decided they needed a bit of a Faberge makeover. The eggs are painted using acrylics and decorated with gems. The stand was originally black, but I painted it gold.
