Holly Swain

A BIG thank you to our judge for this year's competition, the author of _Colin's Grandma_, Holly Swain.

Holly Swain is a children’s book illustrator, living in Sussex. As a kid she always loved to draw, making up characters and their worlds. She used to have a huge roll of paper under her bed that she constantly drew on which gradually got smaller and smaller, by which time she was big enough to go to college. She studied Illustration at UWE Bristol and then did an MA in Brighton. _Colin’s Castle_ was her debut picture book as both author and illustrator.

Use your imagination to dream up a monster; scary, funny, or totally unexpected!

You can use any materials or medium you like. Sculpt, paint or draw your design, or even build a model. The only limit is your imagination!

What weird or wonderful idea will you come up with?

When you’ve finished your monster, don’t forget to share it!

You can scan it, take a photo, or even video your creation in action. 

Now it’s time to share your fabulous creation with the world!

We love seeing schools take part in our competitions so we have a leaderboard to showcase the top participating schools. Entries submitted by teachers on behalf of their class and those submitted by parents from home all count towards a school’s total. 

For the top three schools we have included the percentage of entries compared to the number of students in the school.

Submitting 20 entries or more, either directly through school or via pupil's submissions from home, will earn you one point towards your first/ next Super Schools certificate.

**Please note, only one point can be earned per person/school for this project**

To get your stamp code for your entry, all you have to do is take a photo of your creation and submit it here (not via the Children's University). Just let us know you're part of the Children's University in the “How did you hear about the project?” box, and we'll email you your stamp code for taking part once we've processed your entry and added it to the Gallery.
