Explaining how food and health are linked
Nutritionist

Louise Mercieca

Louise is a nutritional therapist, award-winning author, radio show presenter, podcaster and generally on a mission to educate with the right information on how food and health are linked.

Louise feels the best way to help to shape the health of the next generation is via education. Education enables empowerment. Food doesn’t just fill us up; it shapes our every movement, action and emotion. Understanding all of this (at a basic level) is the key to being as in control as you can be of your own health journey, which is increasingly important in the health landscape we live in today.

The owner of The Health Kick, Louise makes nutrition education accessible and reflective of the real impact food has on child development, along with our own physical and mental health. Louise makes biology fun and ultimately, this helps to shape the health of a generation.

Louise works as a consultant to nurseries and catering providers on menu development along with delivering staff training on nutrition and child development, focusing specifically on Early Years since 2018.

Prior to her career pivot to nutrition, Louise had a corporate career managing a large team and delivering HR contracts to multiple organisations.

"I love how ootiboo uses creativity to encourage learning and empowerment of children. This fits perfectly with my vision that all children should be educated and informed of their own role biology and health - hopefully together we can help shape the health of a generation."
